Lakewood Camping Resort Hosts Blood Drive - Aug 12, 2007
As campers awoke Saturday morning they found the American Red Cross Blood Services team setting up the blood drive on the oceanfront near the Lakewood arcade. The blood drive started at 11am and ended at 4pm. Campers who donated were given "free" Hippo slide passes. In total 23 people gave blood on Saturday.
Campers, Lakewood employees and even some of the resort's owners came out to give the gift of life. Lakewood also donated a part of the days HIPPO slide profits to the American Red Cross. The company plans to have another blood drive in the Spring.
